MPP

The MPP (maximum power point) represents the combination of voltage and current at which a solar module delivers its maximum output (= product of voltage and current), as this is not constant but rather changes depending on the temperature and varying radiation conditions. When monitoring PV systems, the aim is to continually operate the system at the ideal MPP and optimise its output. An MPP tracker is one device used to achieve this.
